KAMLOOPS — Although they have an overwhelming mandate from their members to strike,

The United Steelworks will take one last crack at a negotiated settlement with Highland Valley Copper.

Srike notice hasn’t been served on the company yet, workers voted 99.8 percent in favor of strike action just over a week ago.

The union says lack of movement by the company triggered the vote.

Contract language and wages are among the outstanding issues.
