KELOWNA — A 23 year old Kamloops man is missing after a boating incident on Okanagan Lake near Kelowna, and RCMP fear the worst.

The man was among a group of eight people boating between Gyro Park and Kinsmen Park Saturday evening, when the group stopped for a swim.

They returned to the boat and began traveling toward the William R. Bennett Bridge when they realized one of their passengers was missing.

Search efforts failed to locate him.

On Sunday, RCMP Air Services and local search and rescue volunteers searched with no success.

Now, police say the E Division Underwater Recovery Team will try to find the man.

RCMP officers have been in contact with the man's family throughout the search effort.
