Former World Champ wins Whispering Pines moto-cross

KAMLOOPS — Former World champion Christophe Pourcel of France led the field at Whispering Pines to take the first stop in the Canadian Motocross Nationals.

Pourcel had a 3rd and 1st in the two moto’s to edge out Dillan Epstein of Thousand Oaks, California.

Two Kamloops riders were among the 42 to qualify in MX1.

Josh Allen finished 22nd while Kyle Liebaert was unable to finish and placed 39th.

Swift Current’s Shawn Maffenbeier won both moto’s to take first overall in MX2.
