Passengers stranded during Greyhound bus fire

KAMLOOPS — A fire broke out on a Greyhound bus early Thursday morning, stranding passengers on the side of the road for a couple hours.

According to Greyhound spokesperson, Lanesha Gipson, there were 17 people on board when the fire sparked.

“The incident occurred around 5:28 Pacific Time this morning,” Gipson said. “It was about 15 km outside of Cache Creek. It was schedule number 5033 en route from 100 Mile House to Kamloops.”

The passengers were picked up by a bus from Kamloops, and arrived in the city shortly after 9 a.m. 

No one was hurt during the incident, however passengers said the smoke made them feel ill. 

Greyhound is conducting an internal investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
