KAMLOOPS — RCMP say an incident yesterday afternoon near  Arthur Stevenson Elementary school in Westsyde has been confirmed as NOT suspicious.

Police reported yesterday that two elementary-aged girls had been approached by a man who spoke to them and then reached towards them.

The girls ran away, and told their parents, who called police.

In a news release this morning, Corporal Jodi Shelkie says further investigation showed the man was greeting other students who knew him.

All parties involved were identified and it was confirmed they knew each other. Shelkie says the exchange between the man and the children has been confirmed as not suspicious.
