IIO investigates after RCMP shoot man in Salmon Arm

SALMON ARM, B.C. — The Independent Investigations Office has been deployed to Salmon Arm after RCMP officers shot a man early this morning.

According to a news release, police responded to a theft in progress just after midnight this morning near the 23-hundred 10th Avenue.

The Salmon Arm Observer has identified the business as Xcalibur Kawasaki and Carwash, on the west end of the city.

The IIO says officers arrived on scene and located the suspect, and when he tried to flee, officers shot him.
