Police plead with drivers to slow down

KAMLOOPS — Emergency responders in the Southern Interior are issuing a plea to drives to slow down.

Sgt. Mike Pears with Central Interior Traffic Services said in a news release, “Police in the Merritt area have observed drivers traveling in excess of the 120 km/h posted speed limit. However the posted speed limit is for clear dry ideal road conditions.”

Multiple accidents have been reported on all major highways in the Interior.

If you see emergency crews attending to an incident, make sure you give them plenty of space.
