Wolfpack men’s basketball extend winning streak

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C — The Wolfpack men’s and women’s basketball teams took on the University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves in Prince George Friday night.

The TRU men’s team extended their Canada West winning streak to three with an 87-81 win.

Fifth-year forward Volodymyr Legorov had 14 of his 23 points in the first quarter to lead the WolfPack. 

“We had a little bit of energy and jump to us and we played hard,” said TRU Head Coach Scott Clark. 

The women’s basketball team gave up a three-point halftime lead and ended up falling to UNBC 89-82.

Second-year forward Maria Mongomo sparked UNBC’s offence with 17 points in the second half to secure the win.

The WolfPack were led by third-year guard Audrey Rankin with 18 points

Both the Wolfpack men’s and women’s teams play their final game before the Christmas break Saturday night against UNBC. 

Women’s tipoff is 5pm, men 7pm.
