Toy houses return for the holidays

KAMLOOPS — Christmas Amalgamated has once again enlisted the help of our sister stations B100 and CIFM to gather toys for families in need this Christmas.

Toy houses have been set up in various locations around Kamloops.

People can drop off a new, unwrapped toy for children of any age, but there is a specific need for boys aged 10-15.

B100 and CIFM program director, Cheryl Blackwell says donations will be accepted until Dec. 22 when the items will be dropped off  at Christmas Amalgamated to be distributed to children in the community.

“It’s been an amazing campaign,” Blackwell said. “We’ve been doing this for over 30 years and it’s one thing that Christmas Amalgamated always counts on, it’s where they get the bulk of their toy donations from every year, so it’s been truly incredible. If we look at the actual dollar amount I believe it’s over a million dollars in toys and gifts donated.”

The toy houses are located at Aberdeen Mall, Save-On Foods, Kamloops Ford Lincoln, North Hills Mall, Aberdeen Canadian Tire, and Sahali Centre Mall.
