Pats blank Blazers 3-0

KAMLOOPS — It was a goaltender battle in Kamloops as Connor Ingram and Tyler Brown combined to stop 69 of 70 shots. The Regina Pats added two late empty net goals to make it a 3-0 final for the Pats.

It was a scoreless first period with the Blazers outshooting the Pats 16-11. It was a fast paced game with the Blazers enjoying three first period power plays.

The second period was just as quick as the Blazers had chances, but Tyler Brown continued to shine in the Pats goal. He made a great breakaway save on Collin Shirley to keep it a scoreless game.

Connor Ingram was just as good stopping Austin Wagner on a partial break in the period.

The Blazers had a 5-on-3 power play in the second period, but did not score.

The Pats got the games first goal late in the second period. Austin Wagner walked off the wall and put a shot on goal that zipped past everyone to make it a 1-0 game for the Pats through two periods.

In the third period, the Blazers had some great chances off the rush. Collin Shirley was robbed all alone by Brown’s glove, Garrett Pilon had a great chance but was stopped in tight by Brown.

At the other end, Connor Ingram made an incredible stop to keep it a 1-0 game. He robbed Austin Wagner of a wide open net with his glove to keep the Blazers in it.

The Pats iced the game with 1:11 to go as Adam Brooks scored into an empty net. Sergey Zborovskiy scored another empty net goal to make it a 3-0 final for the Pats.

The Blazers were 0-for-8 on the power play while they finished 1-for-1 on the penalty kill. The Blazers outshot the Pats 37-35 in the game.

Tyler Brown was outstanding for the Pats making 37 saves for the shutout. Connor Ingram had a great night in goal with 32 saves.

The Blazers will return to home ice on Wednesday, November 30th when they host the Seattle Thunderbirds.
