Fatal accident on Trans-Canada Highway near Kokanee Way

KAMLOOPS – Shortly after 8:40 p.m. emergency officials responded to a single vehicle rollover in the 7400 block of the East Trans-Canada Highway.

RCMP Sgt. Darren Michels stated in a news release, “A lone vehicle travelling west bound appears to have lost control and rolled several times. The lone occupant and driver of the vehicle was determined deceased at the scene and an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the incident.”

Police are still attempting to notify next of kin. 

As of 11pm crews are still on scene, but the highway remains open in both directions.
