RCMP investigate suspect vehicle in fatal hit and run

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP confirm officers are investigating a possible suspect vehicle in the death of a Kamloops teenager last Friday.

16 year old Jenn Gatey was killed after she was hit by a vehicle Friday evening on Pacific Way near Abbeyglen Way.

Over the weekend, RCMP distributed a blurry photo of a potential suspect vehicle, believed to be a black Jeep.

This morning, police tape surrounds a Jeep in a driveway on Sunshine Court in Dufferin.

A blue tarp covers the front end of the vehicle.

Corporal Jodi Shelkie confirms the detachment has received several tips in relation to the crash, including one that led investigators to this vehicle.

She says the vehicle on Sunshine Court has not yet been confirmed as the vehicle involved in the crash.
