Kamloops Airport passenger traffic down

KAMLOOPS — The continued fall off of the Northern Alberta market continues to create a hit in traffic at Kamloops airport.

Airport Manager Fred Legace says traffic dropped off by 7.7 percent last month from the same month last year, although overall traffic year to date is still almost 2 percent higher than 2015.

Legace says as reconstruction demands skilled labour from outside the local Alberta market, there should be a correction over the winter and into next spring which should bring the numbers back up.

A total of 25,251 travellers passed through Fulton Field in July.
