Dead body found in Peterson Creek Park

KAMLOOPS — A dead body was found in Peterson Creek Park last night. 

According to Cpl. Jodi Shelkie, a person was walking in the area around 5:10 p.m. when they came across the person, who did not appear to be breathing. 

“When officers arrived on scene, they found a male who was deceased,” Shelkie said. “At this time the death doesn’t appear to be suspicious and the victim has been identified. The investigation and cause of death is now with the coroner’s office.”

Shelkie says the victim was not likely dead for a long time.
