KGHM-Ajax lays off seven, blames commodity market

KAMLOOPS — KGHM-Ajax has issued a round of layoff notices at its Kamloops office, blaming the economy.

According to a statement from Project Manager Clyde Gillespie, seven people have been laid off in Kamloops.

They include public relations spokesperson and former Kamloops Daily News Editor Robert Koopmans.

He goes on to say the company remains committed to the Ajax project, but has been forced to make the moves due to the price of commodities.
