KAMLOOPS — The shelves are freshly stocked at the Kamloops Food Bank after another successful Rotary Food Drive.

Bernadette Siracky with the food bank says 56,500 lb. of food was collected throughout Saturday.

She said that's right on target with what they usually hope for.

"We typically expect between 55,000 and 60,000 lb. of food, so we're right on the mark," Siracky said.

"Thank you Kamloops for putting those yellow bags out. They came literally by the hundreds between 12 and 1 p.m. We were just overloaded with vehicles coming in. It was fun to watch, it was fun to experience."

Siracky said it was exciting to have the food brought directly to the food bank and see hundreds of volunteers sorting the donations.
