KAMLOOPS — At today’s City Council meeting, one of Interior Health’s Medical Health Officers presented their findings from a review of the KGHM-AJAX application to the Environmental Assessment Office.

Dr. Kamran Golmohammadi presented the findings from his review of the application to Council. City Council requested Interior Health review the application back in March. Dr. Golmohammadi says there were specific parts of the Ajax Mine application his office focused on, including air quality and dust mitigation, as well as  how the company plans to respond to any health issues which may arise.

“Overall, we are very satisfied with the process,” Dr. Golmohammadi told CFJC Today. “We trust and rely on this very robust, and effective process, and we feel that the questions we had, and the clarifications we requested hopefully will be addressed.”
