KAMLOOPS — It looked promising for the Kamloops Riverdogs midget baseball team to get their first win of the Best of the West tournament, but they coughed up a 3-0 lead early and wound up losing 5-4 to the East Central Bulls on Friday afternoon.

The Riverdogs, playing as the visitors at Canada Games Field, came out hitting. Senior Tobin Huffman grounded out to bring in Lucas Lott to put one on the board. Kamloops went to 2-0 when East Central threw a wild pitch and Trey Alec easily scored.

The Bulls put some pressure on the Dogs early, but Hayden Bennett, who started the game, put out some fires, forcing two fly outs in the first inning. Then in the second, facing two men on base and a potential score, Bennett struck out two batters to keep East Central off the board.
