A Celebration of Life was held for the late, long time Executive Director of the Kamloops Art Gallery at the Coast Hotel on Saturday. Hundreds were in attendance at Jann Bailey's memorial service including family, friends and local dignitaries. Bailey's sister Beth Austin reflected on child hood memories growing up with Jann. She described Jann as a beautiful, talented, energetic, determined and willful sister. Kamloops North Thompson MLA Terry Lake says Bailey's contribution to the city was enormous. Lake says Bailey challenged the community to understand the importance of art and culture to the fabric of a city like Kamloops. Also at the memorial, the Vancouver Foundation announced it was gifting $10,000.00 to the Kamloops Art Gallery to create a fund in Bailey's name. Bailey passed away on October 9th after a long fought battle with cancer.
