Man assaulted outside his home in Upper Sahali Thursday; suspect arrested

KAMLOOPS — A 31-year-old man was sent to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries after being assaulted outside his home on Springhill Drive in Upper Sahali.

Kamloops RCMP officers responded to Springview Place at around 9:40 p.m. Thursday (July 4) for the report of a disturbance.

In a news release issued Friday morning, RCMP say while officers were en route, they were told of a man who was assaulted with a weapon, allegedly by the same suspect causing the disturbance.

Police say a suspect was arrested shortly after and they remain in custody.

“At this time, the motive for the assault is unknown,” Cpl. James Grandy says.
