Coquihalla highway shut down last night until early this morning

KAMLOOPS — This past week the Coquihalla has been shut down numerous times. Last Friday (Mar.3) the highway was closed for avalanche control until Saturday afternoon. The highway reopened at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday (Mar.4) once the work was completed.
The highway had not been open for half of a day before drive BC announced the highway would once again be shut down due to an accident that had occurred along the highway late Saturday night. The cause of the accident is so far unknown, as well as the status of the driver of the vehicle.
Both lanes of traffic were closed from late Saturday evening, until around 6:00 AM this morning. The highway is now flowing in both directions. Travellers can expect slush, with some slippery sections.
