KAMLOOPS — The BC Emergency Health Service (BCEHS) will be actively recruiting Saturday (Sept. 24) in Kamloops.

BCEHS hiring fairs have been common across the province as there has been a lack of paramedics and ambulance dispatchers.

“There’ll be an opportunity to talk to working paramedics and working dispatchers and ask them about their jobs — what they really like about it — and a chance to find out about a career with the BCEHS,” says Paul Swain, BCEHS Director for Interior West.

Open positions within the BCEHS vary across the province and in Kamloops, but the organization is looking for people to fill part-time jobs.

“In Kamloops, we’re specifically looking for people to work in our dispatch centre — either emergency medical dispatchers or emergency medical call-takers. We’re also looking for primary care paramedics that would like to be on call in Kamloops,” Swain adds.

Those interested in joining the BCEHS can head over to the Kamloops office at 1257 Dalhousie Street from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m on Saturday as locals can see if they have what it takes to join the BCEHS.
