KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops says a new cross-country ski track will be opening tomorrow (Dec. 17) in the Aberdeen area of the city.

In a release, the city says the newest addition to its outdoor recreation trail selection will be opened at West Highlands Park in Aberdeen. The city says the higher elevation spot was chosen for the trail as it’s more likely to have snow.

The cross-country ski track is a 1 km loop that circles around the soccer fields and community centre. The trail will be open seven days a week as long as there is sufficient snow, and the washroom in the West Highlands Community Centre will also remain open all winter.

If the weather is favourable, the ski trail will be open for use on Friday (Dec. 17) – free of charge.
