Kamloops RCMP investigate fatal crash in Valleyview area

KAMLOOPS – UPDATE- 5:00 AM – Traffic has returned to normal on the East Trans Canada Highway (ETCH) after a fatal motorcycle crash last night.
Police were called to the intersection of the ETCH and Highland Road about 7:00 PM. Preliminary indications are that a motorcycle and a pickup collided at the intersection, but other than a pair of short releases involving road closures, nothing more has been released. Sergeant Jeff Bingley did confirm last night that the accident involved a fatality.
The Trans Canada was closed for several hours between Vicars Road and River Road, and traffic was diverted onto Valleyview Drive. But Sergeant Bingley indicated that the highway had been reopened both east and westbound around 4:00 AM.
EARLIER- Mounties are on the scene of a crash along the Trans-Canada highway Sunday evening.RCMP have released few details but say the crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 1 and Highland Road in eastern end of the city.
