Kamloops and Central Okanagan nearly triple new weekly COVID-19 cases

KAMLOOPS — The latest breakdown of COVID-19 cases by Local Health Area (LHA) shows Kamloops’ COVID-19 cases have nearly tripled in the last week.

The map from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) for the week of July 18 to 24 shows 29 cases in the Kamloops area, up from 11 the previous week.

The Central Okanagan also nearly tripled, reporting 153 this week, compared to 53 the week prior.

At 29 cases this week, Castlegar has the highest average daily rate per 100,000 population by LHA

Here are the totals for areas surrounding Kamloops between July 18 to 24, 2021:

  • Cariboo/Chilcotin – zero (unchanged)
  • North Thompson – zero (unchanged)
  • 100 Mile House – zero (down by one)
  • South Cariboo – zero (unchanged)
  • Lillooet – zero (unchanged)
  • Merritt – zero (unchanged)
  • Vernon – 21 (up by 10)
  • Armstrong-Spallumcheen – zero (down by two)
  • Enderby – zero (unchanged)
  • Salmon Arm – six (up by four)
  • Revelstoke – one (up by one)
  • Central Okanagan-Kelowna – 153 (up by 100)
