Two people killed in vehicle crash on Trans Canada Highway

KAMLOOPS – Kamloops RCMP say two people have died following a vehicle collision on the Trans Canada Highway in Valleyview this morning (Feb. 15).

Tuesday Morning Update:

In a release, Cst. Crystal Evelyn says just before 10 a.m Sunday, officers responded to the eastbound lanes of Highway 1 in the Grand Boulevard area for a collision involving a jack-knifed semi trailer. Upon arrival RCMP say it was unknown how many vehicles were involved in the crash.

Evelyn says two people were found deceased when police arrived on scene.

Emergency responders are still on scene investigating, and eastbound traffic is being diverted on to Shuswap Road. Westbound traffic is open for one lane between Holman Road and Grand Boulevard.

RCMP state no further information is available at this time.
