KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops has taken the ‘interim’ tag off of Fire Chief Steve Robinson’s title.

Robinson has been in the top job at Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) since December, when former chief Mike Adams retired.

Robinson moved to Kamloops from Surrey in 2016, taking an assistant chief position with KFR. He began his career with the Surrey Fire Service in 1992.

“The City is fortunate to secure Chief Robinson in this position not only for his demonstrated leadership but along with his dedication to the fire service, team building skillset, and overall professionalism to lead as Fire Chief during these critical times,” said City of Kamloops Community and Protective Services Director Byron McCorkell in a news release.

“I’m humbled and honoured to have become a part of KFR’s long and proud tradition of serving this community,” added Robinson.
