GOMEZ JOINS HULU’S ‘ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING’: Selena Gomez has signed on to star in and executive produce the Hulu comedy series Only Murders in the Building. The cast also includes longtime friends and collaborators Steve Martin and Martin Short, who are also producing the project. “The series follows three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one,” the streaming service said. Martin co-created and wrote the series with John Hoffman whose credits include Grace & Frankie and Looking.

KYLIE MINOGUE SPARKLES IN ‘SAY SOMETHING’ MUSIC VIDEO: Kylie Minogue has released a video for her song “Say Something.” Minogue sparkles in the video, which features glittering, galactic-inspired visuals. Minogue is seen dancing among the stars and riding atop a gold horse statue. In “Say Something,” Minogue sings about being distant from a loved one and asks them to tell her how they’re feeling. “Say Something” appears on Minogue’s forthcoming 15th studio album, Disco, due out November 6th.

MACHINE GUN KELLY RELEASES NEW SONG ‘MY EX’S BEST FRIEND’ WITH BLACKBEAR: Machine Gun Kelly has teamed up with Blackbear for the new song “My Ex’s Best Friend.” The single is the latest song off of his upcoming album, Tickets To My Downfall, due out September 25th. Back in May, Machine Gun Kelly released the music video for his song “Bloody Valentine,” which features his new girlfriend Megan Fox.

DOJA CAT DROPS ‘FREAK’ SONG: Doja Cat has officially released her song “Freak,” which was previously on SoundCloud in November 2018. “Here’s a special treat! FREAK will be available on all streaming services tomorrow to hold you guys off while I’m working on new surprise,” Doja Cat announced. Last month, Doja Cat revealed that she contracted the coronavirus after mocking people who were scared of the disease earlier this year. The rapper shared her experience with the virus in a new interview, saying she didn’t know how she had contracted it.

2020 MTV VMAS WON’T BE INSIDE AFTER ALL: The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards will not take place indoors at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as planned due to the pandemic. “In close consultation with state and local health officials, it became clear at this time that outdoor performances with limited or no audience would be more feasible and safer than an indoor event,” MTV said. “The VMAs will highlight the boroughs in an exciting show and return to Barclays Center in 2021. MTV will continue to work closely with the Department of Health, state and local officials, the medical community, and key stakeholders to ensure the safety of all involved.” Keke Palmer is hosting the August 30th event. Lined up to perform are BTS, Doja Cat and J Balvin. Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga go into the competition with a leading nine nominations apiece. Billie Eilish and The Weeknd follow with six nominations each.
