Another chilly, frustrating night for stranded Coquihalla Highway drivers

KAMLOOPS — It was another tough night for travellers on the Coquihalla Highway.

Both directions were closed Friday night between Hope and Merritt after numerous transport trucks lost control and spun out, leaving hundreds of motorists trapped in their vehicles.

VANCOUVER — Freezing rain and heavy, wet snow from the latest winter storm to batter Vancouver Island and southern British Columbia left thousands without power Thursday and forced the closures of numerous highways as crews worked to clear the avalanche threat.

Schools, roads close as latest winter storm brings snow, rain to B.C.

VANCOUVER — Schools closed early and travellers were warned about slippery roads as British Columbia prepared for the latest blast of winter weather.

Environment Canada has issued storm and snowfall warnings stretching from Victoria to Alberta.
