McHappy Day serves up smiles

KAMLOOPS — It's an event that draws big crowds across the country. Thousands of people are pledging their support for the 25th annual McHappy Day, raising money for children in need. In Kamloops, residents are rallying together to help families accessing Ronald McDonald House in Vancouver.

Tax filing deadline looms

KAMLOOPS — Time is running out to file your income taxes.

Canada Revenue Agency spokesperson Fiona He says the deadline to file is midnight tonight with one exception; the deadline for those who are self-employed is June 15.

KAMLOOPS — A little bit of rain didn't stop thousands of people dressed in red from participating in CFJC TV's Boogie the Bridge Sunday morning. 

According to Boogie the Bridge founder Jo Berry, it's the first time in 21 years it has rained during the event.

Bump in liquor server wage could mean bump in prices at Kamloops pub

KAMLOOPS — The B.C. government has laid out its plans to increase the minimum wage for liquor servers to match the general minimum wage by 2021. 

The first jump is scheduled to take place this June, when servers will see an increase of $1.30 per hour.
