Chataway Lake fire grows to 40 hectares though fire behaviour decreasing

MERRITT, B.C. — The out of control Chataway Lake fire, located 27 kilometres northwest of Merritt, has grown to 40 hectares in size.

The suspected human-caused blaze ignited Sunday says Kamloops Fire Centre Fire Information Officer Brenna Ward.

UPDATE: Winds push Allie Lake wildfire to 2,700 hectares

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: As of 6:00 p.m. Sunday, the B.C. Wildfire Service has mapped the Allie Lake wildfire at 2,700 hectares in size.

Allie Lake wildfire north of Savona doubles in size as of Friday

KAMLOOPS — The raging Allie Lake wildfire north of Savona has doubled in size overnight to 1,600 hectares.

Kamloops Fire Centre Communications Assistant Marla Catherall says it's also "out of control," though no structures are currently threatened.
