City activates Emergency Operations Centre for spring flooding

KAMLOOPS — Rainfall and rising temperatures are keeping the threat of flooding in this province, very much 'top of mind'. In Kamloops, water levels in local creeks are being monitored closely, and Wednesday, the city activated its Emergency Operations Centre.

Buffer between retail cannabis stores in Kamloops to be 100 metres once legalized

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops city council is relaxing the buffer zone between cannabis stores once it's legalized later this year. The distance between stores will now be 100 metre, compared to the previous 150-metre buffer, after council approved an amendment at a public hearing on Tuesday night.

City of Kamloops 'preparing for the worst' at Campbell Creek

KAMLOOPS — The threat of flooding continues to keep the City of Kamloops on alert.

Utility Services Manager Greg Wightman says the biggest concern so far has been Campbell Creek, where water elevations are currently similar to what we saw at this time last year.
