ELLEN POMPEO AND PATRICK DEMPSEY DON’T TALK: Although they worked together for 11 years, Ellen Pompeo recently told Jada Pinkett Smith on her Red Table Talk show that she and Patrick Dempsey haven’t spoken since he left Grey’s Anatomy in 2015. No hard feelings though. “That’s a talented man right there. He did 11 amazing years,” she continued. “Typically, when people leave the show, they need to sort of find themselves, who they are without the show, because the show takes up so much of your life. You need that time to figure out who you are without the show, so, we have not spoken, but I will always have a place in my heart for Patrick.”
SARAH HYLAND REVEALS HEALTH STRUGGLES: Sarah Hyland has long been open about her ups and downs in the health department. Now, the Modern Family star is revealing that she had a second kidney transplant after her first one failed. “We did all of these tests and all of these treatments to try and save the kidney,” Hyland told SELF for their latest digital cover. “Christmas break, New Year’s, Thanksgiving, my birthday, all of that spent in the hospital.” Ultimately, all of the interventions failed, and she found herself struggling with suicidal thoughts as she contemplated another major surgery. In the past 16 months, she’s had six surgeries to combat various health issues, and she credits her relative peace of mind to the support of her family, friends, fans and boyfriend Wells Adams. “He was texting me in the morning before I went into surgery, and we were FaceTiming the entire time I was in the hospital. He’s seen me at my worst. He was there through all of that,” she said. “I think that’s why I feel the most beautiful in his eyes, because he still finds me beautiful after seeing all that.”
EMILIE DE RAVIN GIVES BIRTH: Lost alum Emilie de Ravin welcomed her second child with Eric Bilitch. She shared the happy news on Instagram, writing: “Theodore Kubrick de Ravin-Bilitch was born at home on December 9. We’re so excited you’re finally out here to play with us! We love you so much Theo xoxo.” Theo joins Vera Audrey de Ravin-Bilitch, who was born on March 12th, 2016.
HAS JENNIFER GARNER SLOWED ROMANCE DOWN? Jennifer Garner is putting the breaks on her romance with John Miller, according to a report in Entertainment Tonight. Instead, she is focusing on her career and the children she shares with Ben Affleck. “Privately, she has told friends she doesn’t want to be deeply committed at the moment,” the source says. “She wants to focus on family, career and getting Ben back on track. She enjoys her time with John but she has concerns of moving too quickly because she doesn’t want to be disappointed. Her friends are in full support of her stepping back a bit because they all know relationships take a lot of work and right now her plate is full.”
CATHERINE ZETA-JONES WISHES KIRK DOUGLAS A HAPPY 102nd BIRTHDAY: Kirk Douglas turned 102 on Sunday, and his family honored the Hollywood legend with sweet tributes on social media. Daughter in law Catherine Zeta Jones led the charge, writing: “Happy 102nd birthday to the most beautiful man. We love you Kirk.” Grandson Carys, 15, wrote: “102 years young to my inspiration, my pappy. I can’t put into words how much you mean to me. Happy birthday, I love you.”
BEN AFFLECK RETURNS TO THE SCREEN: Following a flurry of not-great PR for another stint in rehab and his divorce from Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleckis making headlines for the right reasons. The star is appearing in Triple Frontier, his first project post-rehab and divorce, and the first trailer dropped Monday. The film focuses on a group of Special Force operatives (Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund and Pedro Pascal) who want to plan a heist in South America. Triple Frontier will land on Netflix and in select theaters in March of 2019.
