YVETTE NICOLE BROWN TO TAKE ON CHRIS HARDWICK’S DUTIES AT AMC? Yvette Nicole Brown will take over the Season 9 preview special for The Walking Dead, and its after-show Fear the Walking Dead, Deadline reports. Brown will be taking over for accused sexual assaulter Chris Hardwick; she is handling his panels at Comic-Con as well. “Yvette Nicole Brown will step in as an interim guest host of The Walking Dead Season 9 Preview Special on August 5 and Talking Dead when it returns following the premiere of Fear the Walking Dead on August 12, as we work to complete our assessment related to Chris Hardwick,” AMC said Friday. Hardwick denies the allegations floated by his ex-girlfriend, and his wife and mother-in-law are standing by him.
BILL MURRAY & TILDA SWINTON IN FOR THE DEAD DON’T DIE: Jim Jarmusch‘s zombie comedy The Dead Don’t Die is bringing in the big guns for the Focus Features film. Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Adam Driver, Steve Buscemi and Chloe Sevigny, all of whom have worked with Jarmusch before, will star in The Dead Don’t Die. Selena Gomez will also topline the film.
ZOMBIELAND SEQUEL ON WITH EMMA STONE, WOODY HARRELSON, MORE: Zombieland 2 is ready to go after almost a decade of ever-increasing buzz, per The Hollywood Reporter. Sony Pictures is set to reunite the cast of the 2009 hit, including Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin. Ruben Fleischer is returning to direct the horror-comedy road movie.
HBO ORDERS JOSS WHEDON SCI-FI DRAMA: Joss Whedon is returning to the small screen. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum has snagged a straight-to-series order at HBO for The Nevers. The Victorian drama, described as an epic science fiction drama about women who discover they have unusual abilities and dastardly enemies, had multiple bidders, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Episode count and premiere date TBD.
