BEBE REXHA’S MOM ‘HATES’ HER LATEST SINGLE, ‘I’M A MESS’: Bebe Rexha is revealing some secrets about her latest single, “I’m a Mess” – including that fact that her mom isn’t exactly a fan of its darker lyrics. “My mom absolutely hates that song,” she tells Australia’s News.com.au, laughing, “She said ‘Look at ‘Meant to Be,’ couldn’t you put out another song that’s happy and positive?’” Bebe adds, “But ‘I’m A Mess’ is a real side of me, something I deal with every day, with anxiety and depression.” She admits the song is also about love, revealing, “That song was inspired by a guy I really still like, it’s been a year now, but I don’t think he knows the song is about him.” “A lot of those lyrics I wrote in the bathtub. I run the water and talk to myself and record it as a voice memo,” she explains. “Those lyrics come from real things I think about constantly.”

In a new video posted to YouTube, Ed strums his guitar and the two sing a playful, acoustic version of the pop tune, which serves as an ode to the early aughts. The two giggle at each other while trading verses and harmonizing on the chorus. “Yo I love this mug,” Anne-Marie captions the video. “It feels good singing our song, together! Although I think he sings it better!” The longtime friends will reunite on the road this summer, when Anne-Marie opens for Ed on his North American stadium tour starting August 18th.
