Arie & Lauren Will Tie the Knot, But You Won’t See It

The most controversial engaged couple in Bachelor Nation has set a date! And it will not be televised, the couple made pains to point out.

Appearing on The View Wednesday, Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham said that they plan to marry in Hawaii on January 12th.

  • “It’s in Maui – it’s at Haiku Mill which has this beautiful, old world feel with a lot of vines and greenery,” said Luyendyk Jr. “It’s not your typical beach wedding. And it’s a private wedding, so not on TV – just a close group of friends. Probably 100 guests.”
  • Luyendyk Jr., 36, and Burnham, 26, have been at the center of a Bachelor scandal after proposing to Becca Kufrin on-air, and then getting cold feet and realized he was in love with the other finalist, Burnham.
  • That was bad enough in viewers’ eyes, but then he added grave insult to serious injury by dumping Kufrin on live television and proceeding to propose to Burnham. It all went down during the two-hour After the Final Rose special on March 6.
  • Thankfully, Kufrin has confirmed that she is engaged herself now, after wrapping up the next season of The Bachelorette (which premieres Monday on ABC).
