DEADPOOL POP-UP BAR TO LAUNCH: Deadpool‘s favorite snacks-pizza and chimichangas-will pop up at a temporary bars in NYC and L.A. modeled after the anti-hero’s favorite haunt, Sister Margaret’s School for Wayward Girls. The promotion is a collaboration between Fox and beverage company Mike’s Harder. The NYC iteration will run at the Alligator Lounge in Brooklyn, April 26-28 from 7 to 11:30 p.m., and the L.A. version will run at the Slipper Clutch in downtown L.A., May 10-12 from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Deadpool opens May 25th. HOTEL ARTEMIS TRAILER DROPS: Jodie Foster has her hands full running a hospital for criminals in the new trailer for action-thriller Hotel Artemis. Foster plays a character dubbed The Nurse in the film which was written and helmed by Drew Pearce. Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us), Sofia Boutella (The Mummy), Jeff Goldblum (Thor: Ragnarok), Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta), Jenny Slate (Saturday Night Live), Zachary Quinto (Star Trek), Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), and Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) costar. The film drops June 8th.

CARRIE COON JOINS AVENGERS: Avengers: Infinity War is welcoming Carrie Coon to its star-studded fold, directors Joe and Anthony Russo told Radio Times. Coon will appear as the villain Proxima Midnight, a member of Thanos’ evil Black Order.

NETFLIX ORDERS VAMPIRE SERIES: The Vampire Diaries alum Ian Somerhalder is set to sink his teeth into V-Wars, based on Jonathan Maberry‘s bestseller. Somerhalder will star in and direct the 10 hourlong episode series for Netflix. “We could not have dreamed of a better choice than Ian Somerhalder to bring his keen understanding of this genre from his years of starring in The Vampire Diaries to lead the cast of V-Wars as Dr. Luther Swann and to be a creative force on this series, as well as to serve as a director this season,” said David Ozer, President, IDW Entertainment. “We are thrilled to partner with Netflix to bring the multifaceted world that Jonathan Maberry created to audiences worldwide.”

PAUL DANO’s WILDLIFE TO OPEN CANNES CRITICS WEEK: The Critics Week section of the Cannes Film Festival has announced that Paul Dano‘s directorial debut Wildlife will open the competition. The film stars Carey Mulligan and Jake Gyllenhaal. Of the seven films competing, five are from first time directors. Critics’ Week runs May 9-17.
