Who Do You Admire the Most??

Bill Gates and Angelina Jolie are the most admired people in the world for the third year running, according to an annual study compiled by YouGov. The study looks at the top 20 most admired males and females in the world.

The Microsoft founder and actor-humanitarian have come out on top since separate female and male categories were introduced. (Before that, Gates came out No. 1 in every survey YouGov conducted).

• Following Gates and Jolie are Barack and Michelle Obama. The study entailed compiling the interviews of more than 37,000 people in 35 countries.
• Entertainers lead the charge in the female top 20, garnering 14 of the top slots. Entrants include Oprah Winfrey at No. 3 (up 1 slot over last year), Emma Watson at No. 6 (up 7 slots), Taylor Swift at No. 9 (up 5 slots), Madonna at No. 10 (up 2 slots) and Priyanka Chopra at No. 12 (new to the list).
• The male list is more of a hodgepodge, featuring men from business, sports and entertainment. Entrants include Jackie Chan at No. 3 (up 1 slot from last year), Warren Buffet at No. 12 (up 3 slots from last year), Elon Musk at No. 14 (new to the list) and Donald Trump at No. 17 (up 1 slot from last year).
• Thirteen Americans-six men and seven women-make the list, including newcomers Musk, Michael Jordan and Elizabeth Warren.
• The exact methodology of the survey, per YouGov, involved asking interviewees: “Thinking about people alive in the world today, which [man or woman] do you most admire?”
