SEAN PENN ANNOYS #METOO WITH POEM: Actor-turned-scribe Sean Penn wrote a poem in his debut novel Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff, in which he wonders: “Once crucial conversations/Kept us on our toes;/Was it really in our interest/To trample Charlie Rose?” and “Where did all the laughs go?/Are you out there Louis C.K.?” The ditty is a reference to Rose and C.K.’s sexual misconduct accusers, judging from the next lines: “And what’s with this ‘Me Too’?/This infantilizing term of the day/Is this a toddler’s crusade?/Reducing rape, slut-shaming, and suffrage to reckless child’s play?” Members of the #MeToo movement took notice. One wrote on Twitter, “Here’s a poem for Sean Penn: Shut the f— up.” (Page Six)

ROSEANNE BARR SHADED WENDY WILLIAMS OVER HUSBAND: Roseanne Barr isn’t one to hold punches. On Wednesday, she appeared on The Wendy Williams Show to discuss the Roseanne revival, and appeared to be caught off-guard when the host mentioned Barr’s ex Tom Arnold being hired by The Hollywood Reporter to review the reboot. Barr responded: “I don’t like talking about husbands … Right, Wendy?” Barr was apparently referring to reports that Williams’ husband Kevin Hunter was unfaithful. The audience gasped but Williams appeared unruffled: “I don’t mind talking about husbands; he’s fabulous.” (Page Six)

SARAH JESSICA PARKER STOPS SHORT OF ENDORSING CYNTHIA NIXON: Sarah Jessica Parker has finally weighed in on her Sex and the City co-star’s bid for New York Governor. Speaking to Page Six, her comment on Cynthia Nixon‘s run was hardly the glowing endorsement the co-stars usually give each others’ personal and professional projects: “Cynthia has been my friend and colleague since we were little girls. I look forward to talking to her about her New York state gubernatorial bid.” Nixon is seeing things through a rosier lens. She told People this week that Parker, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis have all “expressed love, support and excitement” about her political debut. (People)

SHARKNADO SAGA TO END: It’s time to wave goodbye to an American classic: Sharknado‘s wave of cyclone and tornado-riding vengeance is drawing to a close. The epic Syfy saga will end with the sixth movie, which has Ian Ziering (Finn) back where it all began. On his last epic journey, he will reportedly encounter Nazis, Noah’s Arc and dinosaurs. Tara Reid, Cassie Scerbo and Vivica A. Fox are set to make appearances. (Vulture)
