VENOM TRAILER DROPS: Tom Hardy is seen sporting a new accent with hot new wheels in the new trailer for Sony‘s Venom. Venom is a classic villain/anti-hero in the Spider-Man universe, and he gets his powers from an alien symbiote Rize Ahmed‘s character is studying. Michelle Williams also stars. Venom drops in October.

DEADPOOL 2 DIRECTOR IN TALKS FOR FAST SPINOFF: David Leitch, the Deadpool 2 director, is in talks to helm the Fast and Furious spinoff starring Dwayne Johnson, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Universal has set a July 26, 2019 release date for the movie, which will also star Deckard Shaw. Chris Morgan wrote the script, his seventh for the series. Worldwide, the Fast and Furious franchise has grossed $5.1 billion for Universal.

AMY SCHUMER DEBUTS I FEEL PRETTY TRAILER: Amy Schumer debuted the trailer for I Feel Pretty on Ellen Thursday. In the film, Schumer plays an ordinary woman who struggles with feelings of insecurity and inadequacy until she falls down and wakes up, suddenly believing she’s capable and brilliant. I Feel Pretty lands in theaters June 29th.

RAUL ESPARZA IS OUT AT SVU: Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is bidding farewell to Ral Esparza, who is leaving the NBC juggernaut after six seasons, Entertainment Weekly reports. The actor joined SVU as assistant district attorney Rafael Barba in season 14 and became a series regular in season 15. On Wednesday, Barba left the D.A.’s office after pulling the plug on a brain dead child. Chicago Justice character Peter Stone (Philip Winchester) is replacing him as the new ADA. “It has truly been an honor writing for Ral,” SVU showrunner Michael Chernuchin says. “The power, sensitivity, and morality he brought to the character of Rafael Barba never failed to elevate our scripts. Ral is family and we look forward to seeing his talent shine in new projects. As for Barba, SVU fans may see him again soon.”
