Delay in trial for polygamous sect trio accused of transporting minors

CRANBROOK, B.C. — Opening arguments have been delayed in the case of three people tied to a fundamentalist polygamous sect in southeastern British Columbia as lawyers wrangled over evidence the court will hear during the 14-day trial.

Ottawa places three-gram limit on amount of medical pot it covers for veterans

VANCOUVER — The federal government is limiting the amount of medical cannabis that veterans will be reimbursed for to three grams a day.

Veterans Affairs Minister Kent Hehr says the cost of reimbursing veterans has increased with many using up to 10 grams a day.

Military probe ordered after service member hurt at 443 squadron near Victoria

ESQUIMALT, B.C. - A member of a military helicopter squadron based near Victoria has been seriously injured in an industrial accident.

A spokesperson for CFB Esquimalt says the accident happened Monday at 443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron, based at Victoria International Airport.
