Downtown business owners see increase in drug, criminal activity

KAMLOOPS — A pair of downtown business owners want to see police and bylaw officers doing more to tackle activities that sometime accompany drug use. 

The alley behind Bikini Bill's on Victoria St. has become a dumping ground for used needles among other things.

Coroners Service says Kamloops has already doubled '15 overdose death total

KAMLOOPS — New numbers released by the BC Coroners Service show Kamloops has already seen twice as many illicit drug overdose deaths than it did all of last year.

The service says 14 people have died of drug overdoses in Kamloops between January and April of this year.

Horizon North makes plans to help rebuild Fort McMurray

KAMLOOPS — It could be months before Fort McMurray residents are allowed to return home following the wildfire that swept through portions of that city. With many homes destroyed, it will likely take a massive effort to rebuild, but one company has plans to simplify the process.
