The Nicola Valley brings to mind a number of different images: ranchlands, picturesque rolling hills, and beautiful lakes. The largest city in the region, Merritt, is home to about 8,000 people. The town has suffered a bit of an identity crisis in past years, with the slowing of the forestry industry, and the end of the Merritt Mountain Music Festival, but today, the outlook for the city is bright.
