Pete McIntyre

Pete McIntyre has interviewed everyone from sports stars, to premiers and future prime ministers, in a journalism career spanning three decades.
After learning the trade at BCIT, he got his first job in Creston BC, and his first in-depth media investigation was at the Kokanee Brewery (just kidding).
He was hired at CJIB AM in Vernon in 1988, becoming sports director in 1990, and having the pleasure to call play by play of three national championships for the Vernon Lakers-Vipers.
He's been news director since 1996, and recently added sports director as well.
Pete and his wife Jaynee live in beautiful Coldstream where they've raised their two sons.

Education minister says North Okanagan school board had to be fired

SALMON ARM, B.C. — The North Okanagan Shuswap school board has been dismissed by BC's Education Minister, and replaced with an official trustee.

Minister Mike Bernier made the change based on a report from a special advisor who looked into problems with the board.
