RCMP arrest suspect traced through uploaded selfie on stolen iPhone

NANAIMO, B.C. — RCMP have arrested a man suspected of taking a photo of himself with an iPhone they say was stolen in Nanaimo, B.C.

Const. Gary O’Brien says in a news release that the 39-year-old was arrested less than 48 hours after the selfie was circulated on social media.

FIELD, B.C. — The search for an 11-year-old Calgary boy who fell into the Yoho River in southeastern British Columbia last Friday has ended.

Parks Canada says a search team recovered the body of the boy from the Kicking Horse River, downstream of the Yoho River, late Tuesday morning.

Spirit of the West’s John Mann among Order of B.C. recipients

VICTORIA — A diverse group of leaders with talents ranging from music to medicine has received the province’s top accolade.

John Mann, a founding member of the iconic Canadian band Spirit of the West, was among 16 people presented with the Order of British Columbia on Tuesday.
