CLINTON, B.C. — The Village of Clinton’s volunteer fire department is planning a 13-hectare prescribed burn this month.

It is scheduled to take place just north of the village and, according to a news release from the BC Wildfire Service, it is being planned “with the goal of reducing wildfire risks in the area.”

The burn will take place some time in the month of April, but exact timing is dependent on weather and site conditions.

The wildfire service says smoke and flames will be visible from the village, and to travellers looking to the west of Highway 97.
