VICTORIA —     Green Leader Andrew Weaver says tax changes proposed to help attract L-N-G development to B-C are pulling the province in two different directions.

He says continuing to push for L-N-G development is short-sighted and work against the province’s Clean-BC objectives.

Finance Minister Carole James introduced legislation yesterday that she says is aimed at encouraging more development through a natural gas tax credit.

The new tax credit would go in effect on January 1st and be available to corporations whose principal business involves oil and gas exploration, development, refining, marketing or liquefaction of natural gas.
