KAMLOOPS — For the first time in years, the TRU Wolfpack baseball swept a series against Prairie Baseball Academy, winning all four games in Lethbridge to start the season off with a bang.

The ‘Pack got off a right foot in the season-opener on Friday with a 10-5 win over the Dawgs. 2018 CCBC Second Team All-Star pitcher Tyler Hodder pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts and no walks. Offensively, second-year Liam Rihela went 5-for-5 with four doubles and three RBI in the victory.

TRU followed it up with another five-run win in the second half of the doubleheader on Friday, defeating PBA 8-3. 2018 CCBC strikeouts leader Tyler Moskalyk got through eight innings and gave up only two runs on five hits and striking out nine.

On Saturday, the offensive output continued with 24 runs in the first game — two runs shy of the team record of 26, set two years ago against Calgary. The output came on 15 hits, while TRU was walked by the Dawgs 10 times. They came back to earth in the second game in what was the closest of the weekend, a 6-5 win.
