Police seek more information about Valemount homicide

VALEMOUNT, B.C. — The RCMP North District's Major Crime Unit is seeking more information about a vehicle believed to be associated to a homicide in Valemount earlier this week.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Sunday (March 10), Valemount RCMP responded to a report of a deceased man at a home in the 1800-block of Main Street. North District was called in to assist after the man's death was deemed a homicide.

In a news release, police say the man has been identified, but his identity is not being made public at this time.

North District Major Crimes is asking anyone who may have seen or have information regarding a 2013 white Chevrolet Traverse to report to police.

"We are trying to determine a timeline with respect to the vehicle’s whereabouts leading up to and following the man’s death," states B.C. RCMP Sgt. Janelle Shoihet. "We are circulating a stock photo of the vehicle and asking anyone who may have any information about its location, or occupants to contact RCMP."
