100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — Residents in the 100 Mile House area may see some smoke plumes this week, and on through the spring.

According to the BC Wildfire Service, crews will conduct a series of controlled burns north of Horse Lake until June 30.

It’s meant to reduce the wildfire risk around the areas of Imperial Ranchettes and in the 100 Mile House Community Forest.

The effort was set to begin Monday (Mar. 11), with piles of wood and debris set ablaze at the end of Gary Road.
